Members of ARGOS – Association of Regional Tourist Guides of Slovenia are constantly educating ourselves, also by presenting our hometowns to other members of the Association. The so-called educational excursions are typically organized in the low season when there is less work. Unfortunately, this season has been extended in 2020, but in ARGOS we never rest. Since the epidemic was officially over in Slovenia, we offer tours for individual guests in several Slovenian destination. At the same time, we regularly attend educational excursions organized by our member fellows.
Thus, we spent one Wednesday morning in the beginning of June at the Rogla-Pohorje Tourist Destination. With the support of the Tourist Information Centre (TIC) of Slovenske Konjice, our member, a tourist guide and local expert, Nina Buh, showed us this naturally and culturally rich part of Slovenia, which invites with a slogan: Explore, Feel, Enjoy! While we walked through the Old Market Square, we admired the typical buildings from the past decades and listened to the stories they are still whispering. We were overwhelmed by the good-conditioned heritage and tidiness of the town. Afterwards, we took a walk through the vineyards of Škalce, from where we admired the stunning view of the Pohorje Mountain Range, the Dravinja Valley and the mighty mountain of Konjiška Gora with its castle ruins. The last stop at the Rogla-Pohorje Tourist Destination for that day was Žička Kartuzija (Carthusian Monastery) in Žiče. This hidden beauty did not leave us indifferent and we decided we’ll come back soon. Hopefully with tourists.
