In 1989, the federation suggested to declare February 21-th as International Tourist Guide Day.<\/p>\n<p>The objectives of the day are several:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Enhance the image of the Guides;<\/li>\n<li>Make Tourist Guides themselves aware of their role;<\/li>\n<li>Inform the public of what Guiding is all about;<\/li>\n<li>Make people aware of their cultural and environmental heritage;<\/li>\n<li>Make people aware of the problems Tourist guides face (traffic, security etc.);<\/li>\n<li>Bring people closer to our profession through professionalism;<\/li>\n<li>Give direct messages to the public on issues concerning the Tourist Industry;<\/li>\n<li>Protect the environment and cultural heritage through professional management of groups.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The tours that guides organize are all free of charge.<\/p>\n<p>Please do follow different Tourist Guide FB pages<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/140301789349251\/?fref=ts\"><strong><u>WFTGA<br \/>\n<\/u><\/strong><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/FEGEuropeTouristGuides\/?fref=ts\"><strong><u>FEG<\/u><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>and web pages, like<br \/>\n<strong><u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wftga.org\">WFTGA<\/a>\u00a0<\/u><\/strong>or<br \/>\n<strong><u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.feg-touristguides.com\/\">FEG<\/a>\u00a0<\/u><\/strong>where you can find activities around your home.<\/p>\n<p>Just in case you are on tour, make sure, to contact local tourist guide association like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/AORTGOS\/\"><strong><u>ARGOS \u2013 Association of tourist guides of Slovenia<br \/>\n<\/u><\/strong><\/a>or web page <a href=\"https:\/\/www.localguides-slovenia.com\"><strong>www.localguides-slovenia.com\u00a0<\/strong><\/a>and join them with their celebration!<\/p>\n<p>Let us be proud of our peace ambassadorial role!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Svetovna zveza dru\u0161tev turisti\u010dnih vodnikov WFTGA je bila ustanovljena 21. februarja leta 1985.
