Association of Regional Tourist Guides of SLovenia- ARGOS signed the Consortium Agreement on the establishment and operation of partnership for the preservation and revitalization of the claustra barrier system on 31 May 2019.
The initiative was given by the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Heritage of Slovenia. They are the main partner of the international project Claustra+ . Claustra Alpium Iuliarum is a Late Roman barrier system between Kvarner (Croatia) and Julian Alps (Slovenia). It consists several sections of stone walls, towers, forts and fortlets. The time of its creation dates back to the second half of the 3rd century when the Roman Empire was on the verge of collapse and shaken by civil wars and invasions of peoples.
Within the Consortium we are going to work on the protection of the remains as well on the presentation to the public.
ARGOS members will be active on the Executive Board and the leading body in the team cooperating with the tourism stakeholders.
