Apart from the natural beauty of Lake Bled with its romantic island, cultural riches of Slovenia accumulated over the centuries in this special corner of Europe and of course the fascinating Bled Castle, by far the most visited cultural attraction in Slovenia, I like to show to guests how we actually live here and enjoy the splendid surroundings of Bled which we call our home.

Bled Food Tour
Come and join me for a culinary tour on the shores of Lake Bled, under the majestic Bled Castle. We will visit selected local restaurants offering their fine Carniola dishes, with accompanying superb Slovenian wines and spirits. As a cook I take food seriously, as many Slovenians do, so I would like to introduce you to some fine dining in the splendid environment. Along the way, we will learn more about the cultural and historic traditions of Bled and its people. We might meet some of them in the authentic setting – guaranteed to impress all your senses. And yes – we will complete the tour with Bled Cream Cake!
Sweet Honey and Beekeeping tour
Carniola Bee is world famous and plays a crucial role in pollinating flowers, crops and trees. As a side product, our bees produce high quality, completely organic honey, which has to be tasted to be believed. Bees are first indicators of pollution of the environment, and thanks to strict environmental standards in Slovenia, our bees’ honey is not only delicious, but healthy and authentic. Take some time to learn more about our diligent buzzing helpers – sweetness guaranteed!
In the steps of Kings and Tito
Bled has always been a playground of royalty and presidents, many of them making Bled their home. Thanks to their residence in Bled, all kinds of celebrities visited us. Marshal Tito, president of Yugoslavia, liked Bled so much he turned Vila Bled, former closed state complex and today a pleasant hotel, into his semi-permanent home. Come and join me in getting to know better his lavish lifestyle, including visiting the places where he welcomed Ethiopian emperor Haile Selassie, leader of the Soviet Union Nikita Khrushchev, Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser, Emperor Akihito of Japan, Emperor of the Central African Empire Jean-Bédel Bokassa and even President of North Korea Kim Il Sung. A very original and different experience!
Triglav National Park tours
Bled is the best base to visit the pearls of Triglav National Park. I recommend Lake Bohinj with Vogel Cableway – the views from the top towards Mount Triglav are stunning. Nearby is the upper Sava Valley with Kranjska Gora and Planica with its Nordic Ski Centre – very popular with Slovenians and international visitors alike. If you are more adventurous, Vršič Mountain Pass or Vrata valley with Peričnik waterfall are not that far away. The entire area of Slovenia’s biggest and oldest National Park is wonderful and absolutely deserves to be visited, even for a short tour. Do not miss this opportunity!
